Warriors Qualify For CHAN 2016
Zimbabwean soccer is continuing its winning streak, after the national men’s football side, the Warriors, have qualified for a spot in the African National Championship finals.
The Warriors were up against Lesotho for the second time on Sunday at the Setsoto Stadium. While last week’s performance was much better, the Warriors managed to draw with the Lesotho team.
However, even though they drew the match, the Warriors were awarded a place in the CHAN finals based on an aggregate of 4-2.
It was thanks to Rodreck Mutuma that the Warriors ensured their place at CHAN, after he scored Zimbabwe’s first and only goal in the 35th minute of the game.
The Warriors also kept their defence up for most of the game, and it wasn’t until the 77th minute that Lesotho was awarded a penalty which allowed them to be put on the scoreboard, too.
