Warriors Knocked Out Of CHAN
It was a sad day for Zimbabweans on Saturday when national football team, the Warriors, were knocked out of the 2016 Chan Tournament after losing to rivals, Mali.
The Warriors had a lot of pressure on them as this was a crucial Group D game for the side. Last week saw them lose their opening match against Zambia, which wold mean that they had to do well against Mali to proceed.
However, Mali was hungry for a win as they were knocked out by Zimbabwe two years ago in the 2014 tournament.
And if it was revenge that they were after, they definitely succeeded as they manage to beat the Warriors by one goal to zero.
The match was mostly goalless until the 82nd minute of the game, when a free-kick from star player, Samake, was volleyed home from a couple of yards out by Sissoko to give Mali the lead.
As for the rest of the game, Mali did have most of the possession.
The warriors also did have some star moments, especially when Chirambadare has some stellar skills when he successfully defeated two Mali defenders. However, when he tried another dummy he lost the ball after too many touches.
Mali played their other group D game against Uganda, which they drew 2-2.
The Warriors will next take on Uganda in their final group stage match.
