Warriors Eager To Take On Uganda
The Warriors may have been humiliated in their 2016 CHAN campaign thus far, but the Zimbabwean national football side still is eager to make a lasting impression in their final match of the tournament.
The Warriors are set to take on Uganda in their final group D pool match later today.
Despite being knocked out of the competition, The Warriors are still going to go all in in their last match, according to striker Knox Mutizwa:
“…[sic] We are still going to take the match seriously despite the fact that we are out of the tournament…Pride is what is at stake here. We will try to get the goals. We will try to play and win the match. As strikers, we have not performed well,” he said.
He continued saying that the team has missed opportunities and that they are disappointed with the results but that they want to make up for their disappointment:
“…We have missed so many chances we are all disappointed but that’s football…We know Uganda still need three points to enhance their chances of qualification but it will not be easy because we are looking at ourselves and saying we could have done better and we should make up for that disappointment,” he said.
Currently, Zambia lead Group D and have qualified with six points, following 1-0 wins against Zimbabwe and Uganda, while Mali have four with Uganda are on one point going in to their match against Zimbabwe.
