Van Gaal Seemingly Confirms Exit From Man U
Current Manchester United manager, Louis Van Gaal, has seemingly confirmed his exit from the club, as he told reporters that “it’s over” in a press briefing after the Red Devils won the FA Cup on Saturday.
It has long since been speculated the Van Gaal will resign from his post as Manchester United manager at the end of the season, and now it seems that that has been confirmed by the man himself.
However, it doesn’t seem that the 64-year old is too pleased with the decision to leave the club, as his short, to-the-point answer suggests.
It is also a far cry from the mood he was in on Saturday evening, when Manchester United beat Crystal Palace 2 – 1 in the final of the FA Cup.
Speaking to reporters after his club’s win, Van Gaal said that he hoped to remain at Old Trafford for the upcoming 2016/2017 season.
However, his sentiments seemed to have changed when he spoke to the media again on Sunday outside of the hotel that he was staying in with his team.
When reporters asked Van Gaal about his future at the club, he simply answered: “it’s over.”
With Van Gaal likely making a departure from Old Trafford, it is suspected that former Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho will fill Van Gaal’s shoes.
Mourinho has not confirmed that he has been in talks with Manchester United. But has said on record that he he “awaiting” a call from the club.
Hopefully there will be some clarity as to who will be at the helm of the Red Devils in the coming weeks.
