Valentine’s Day Ideas to Match Your SO

February 14, 2017

There is much to be said about the tradition of Valentine’s day. Judy Garland once said about being with your true love: “For it was not into my ear you whispered, but into my heart. It was not my lips you kissed, but my soul.”

For others, the holiday is far less meaningful. An American cartoonist, Charles M Schulz, once said: “All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn’t hurt.” We tend to agree – at least as far as the chocolate goes.

Love it or hate, Valentine’s Day 2017 is here. If you’ve left it to the last minute, below is a list of ways that you can treat your significant other!

Independent lady:

If you are currently your own SO, fear not. In fact, you should be excited because tonight, the options are endless! Hit the town with the girls, grab some grub with friends or host a Galentine’s Day feast – the choice is yours! If you’re the quieter kind, enjoy a blissful eve of me-time. Grab your favourite snacks, splurge on some champagne (or your favourite beverage) and camp out on the sofa for some Netflix and chill!

First date:

Pick her up (on time), flowers in hand, and take her to a low-key (but recommended) restaurant where you can enjoy fine wine, get lost in each other’s eyes, and get to know each other.

Dating for two weeks:

Channel your inner Ryan Gosling and take her out for a night of jazz, smooth talk and, of course, dancing.

OR

Show off your domestic side and make (or order in) a home-cooked meal. Decorate the table (remember the flowers), and enjoy some inhouse wining and dining.

Dating for six months:

Whisk her away to the woods (or another equally quiet and romantic location) for the night. Unplug, unwind, and indulge in each other.

OR

Hit up a karaoke bar, throw back some tequila shots, and let music take over!

Married:

Cosy up with your significant other for an eve of old Hollywood films and indulge in real old school romance – think Casablanca, Gone with the Wind, Titanic, Armageddon, My Fair Lady, and Chocolat!

OR

Surprise her with a reservation at her favourite restaurant. Pull out her chair for her, order champagne, and woo her like you’re on your first date.
Romantic or cynic, we wish you a Valentine’s Day filled with love, laughter and chocolate!
