USA: Retailer Delivers Mother’s Day Flowers to Senior Homes
Mother’s Day is only two days away, and a major US retailer is doing its bit to show elderly, isolated mothers some love and appreciation.
With the world in the grips of the coronavirus pandemic, millions around the globe have been adhering to social distancing practices.
As a result, many people are unable to physically spend time with their loved ones – especially those who cannot visit their aged mothers and grandmothers who live in senior homes, due to quarantine restrictions.
Working with local nurseries and ride-hailing service Uber, Lowe’s – a home improvement based in North Carolina – is delivering a million dollars’ worth of wrapped flower baskets to 500 long-term care and senior living facilities in ten cities.
These cities include New York City, Chicago and Miami, among others that were hit hardest by the virus. The flowers will also come with a special note of appreciation from Lowe’s.
In addition to providing financial support to these nurseries and Uber drivers, according to Lowe’s officials, the bouquet baskets will help brighten up the days of the mothers and grandmothers who are waiting to see their loved ones again.
