United’s Marcus Rashford on Barcelona’s Radar
Manchester United striker, Marcus Rashford, is reportedly being targeted by Barcelona.
News of the La Liga giants’ interest in the 21-year-old star comes just before the two sides clash in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final at Camp Nou this evening, Tuesday 16 April.
Rashford – who signed with United in 2015 – has 12 months remaining on his current deal. To retain his services, the club are apparently looking at offering him a five-year deal that could see him earning a potential £300 000 a week.
Although Rashford and United have yet to come to an agreement on a new deal, Barca are said to be lining up a staggering £100 million transfer bid for the striker once the transfer window reopens.
To fund the bid, Barcelona might have to offload big-name players such as winger, Philippe Coutinho, whose performances on the pitch have been underwhelming so far.
There is no doubt that Barca’s top brass will be keeping a close eye on Rashford when the Spanish team takes on Man United tonight.
