UEFA Best Player in Europe: Finalists
The coveted UEFA Best Player in Europe Award announced the top three finalists for the honour – and all three if the nominees currently play their football in Spain.
Besides all three nominations being from Spain, they are, in fact, all from Madrid.
Cristiano Ronaldo, Antoine Griezmann and Gareth BAle are this year’s three finalists.
Ronaldo and Bale both play for Real Madrid, while Griezmann is a star player at Atletico Madrid. There must certainly be something in the water in Madrid!
While all three of these players had exceptional runs with their clubs and on an international level, bookies are saying that the award will most likely go to Ronaldo.
Besides having yet another exceptional season with Real Madrid, Ronaldo also helped his national team of Portugal win the Euros 2016.
The winner will be announced at the end of the month.
