Tyler Perry Surprises Seniors at Supermarkets

April 09, 2020

Tyler Perry is showing some love for older folks by buying them groceries.

The 50-year-old actor – who is best known for creating the “Madea” character – has been making senior citizens smile in and around Atlanta, Georgia, and New Orleans, Louisiana.

On Wednesday, 8 April, he paid the bill at 44 Kroger and Winn-Dixie stores around the Atlanta area, during the special time that many shops have set aside for the elderly and high-risk customers, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Internet exploded with thanks and appreciation for the entertainment mogul. Kroger and Winn-Dixie both thanked Perry on social media through their official Twitter accounts.

Kroger posted: “[Tyler Perry] paid it forward and purchased groceries for nearly 3 000 senior shoppers today at Kroger stores across Atlanta … thank you, Tyler, for your generosity!”

Winn-Dixie echoed the same sentiment: “Winn-Dixie applauds your love for community and sincere generosity”.
