Two UN Soldiers Accidentally Killed In Mali

The United Nations have confirmed that two Dutch UN soldiers have been killed during a training exercise in the west African country of Mali.

According to a spokesperson for the United Nations, the two Dutch soldiers were killed when an explosion of mortar went off accidentally during a training exercise on a firing range in the country.

They also said that a third soldier had been been seriously injured in the explosion, and that he is currently receiving treatment for his injuries.

The UN also said that they are currently investigating the accident to establish what exactly the cause was.

A spokesperson for the UN’s peacekeeping mission in Mali said that the accident had happened on Wednesday morning in Kali.

Currently, there are around 400 Dutch soldiers in Mali, that for part of the UN’s mission in Minusma. The UN has around 12 000 troops in the country as part of their peacekeeping mission all together.
