Toure’s Agent Attacks Guardiola Again
Manchester City player, Yaya Toure’s agent, Dimitri Seluk, has once again gone off on Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, for his treatment of Toure.
The bitterness between Seluka and Guardiola has been coming on for quite some time, with Guardiola vowing not to put Toure in the starting lineup until Seluk apologizes to him about earlier comments he had made.
Seluk was upset that Toure had not been selected for the starting lineup for the Champions League.
Seluk further claims that he has tried to come into contact with Guardiola, but that he has been unable to do so. He has also failed to get in touch with Manchester City director, Txiki Begiristain.
Seluk then went to the press once again to express his disdain with the current situation regarding Toure:
“…When Yaya was left out of the Champions League squad, I called Pep. I wanted to ask him his reasons, but he didn’t call me back…I also tried to call [City director] Txiki [Begiristain] – but he didn’t call me back either. So I don’t think the club can criticise me for doing an interview in the newspaper when they wouldn’t even talk to me,” Seluk said.
He continued saying that he wanted to talk to Guardiola man-to-man, but that he could not reach him to arrange a meeting:
“…My idea was to talk man-to-man, to find out how we can move things forward for the best interests of Manchester City and Yaya…[sic] All I got was silence. So it must be clear to everyone that Pep isn’t looking for an apology. It is about him turning Sheikh Mansour and the City fans against a player who loves the club…Pep is allowing his ego to make decisions that aren’t in the best interests of Manchester City,” he said.
