Toure Returns To Man City Starting Line Up
Manchester City player, Yaya Toure, has made a bit of a comeback as he was selected as part of Manchester City’s starting line up in their most recent match against Crystal Palace.
Toure, who has not been included in Man City’s starting line up since Pep Guardiola took over as manager of the club, certainly made a come back as he scored twice during the match, resulting in City winning the match 2 – 1.
The sourness between Toure and Guardiola was actually started by Toure’s agent, Dimitri Seluk, who had a very public spat with Guardiola; criticizing him for not including Toure in City’s squad for the Champions League.
However, it seems that the bad blood between Toure, Guardiola and Seluk seems to be water under the bridge, as Toure was happy to return to starting for his team.
He also said that he was ‘mentally ready’ to play again.
“…I was prepared mentally and I knew that one day my manager would need me. I was delighted to play and I am very happy to be playing football…My team-mates are very important to me. They have always been brilliant with me, always supportive. I always want to be there to help them. I am professional, I always want to improve my game,” he said.
Toure has also in the meantime issued an apology about the drama between his manager and agent.
