Tottenham Suffers More Injury Woes
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, Moussa Sissoko, has been ruled out for three months following a knee surgery.
The French international sustained a medial collateral ligament damage in his right knee during a 1-0 defeat at Southampton on New Year’s Day.
Sissoko has played a key role in the club’s central midfield and was featured in all of the Spurs’ 2019/20 Premier League games, except for the FA Cup 1-1 draw at Middlesbrough on Sunday, 5 January 2020.
According to the statement released by Tottenham, the lad is only expected to return to training in early April.
Sissoko is set to miss big games against Premier League giants such as Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United, as well as both legs of UEFA Champions League’s last 16 clash against RB Leipzig.
The loss of Sissoko has compounded more problems for Jose Mourinho, who is already without top goalscorer Harry Kane, club captain Hugo Lloris, and record-signing Tanguy Ndombele due to long-term injury.
Mourinho and his team are set to visit Premier League leaders Liverpool, on Saturday 11 January, at Anfield – and there are doubts that even Ben Davies, Danny Rose and Harry Winks – who are also injured, will be fit to face The Reds.
