Tottenham Snap Up Kudus in £55m Deal from West Ham

July 11, 2025

Tottenham Hotspur have secured the signing of Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United in a deal worth £55 million, subject to a work permit.

The 24-year-old forward has penned a long-term contract and will wear the number 20 shirt for the next six years.

On Thursday, 10 July, Kudus became the first player to move directly between Spurs and the Hammers since Scott Parker did in 2011. The transfer follows strong interest from Chelsea and Newcastle, but the former Ajax star was reportedly determined to join Spurs, citing manager Thomas Frank as a key influence.

“I’ve always wanted to play at the highest level,” the Ghanaian international told club media. “How big the club is, the history and the Champions League as well, so it’s a big moment. I’m very happy and can’t wait to start[sic].”

Kudus enjoyed an impressive spell at West Ham following his 2023 arrival from Ajax, netting 13 goals and providing nine assists in his debut English Premier League season. He also collected several accolades, including West Ham’s Goal of the Season and two recent consecutive Ghana Footballer of the Year awards.

With versatility across the front line and experience in Europe, Kudus is expected to add attacking depth to Frank’s evolving squad. Spurs remain interested in Brentford’s Yoane Wissa, though a deal has yet to materialise.
