Tottenham: Pochettino Clears Up Rumours
Tottenham Hotspur manager, Mauricio Pochettino, has dismissed rumours surrounding some of his players and their possible moves to other teams during the summer transfer window.
Rumours have been doing the rounds of possible exits for midfielder, Dele Alli, and right back, Kyle Walker.
Alli has recently been linked with a move to La Liga giants, Real Madrid, while reports have suggested that rival EPL club, Manchester City, have shown interest in Walker.
Alli, himself, sent rumours into overdrive last week when he told reporters that “anything can happen” when asked about his future at Tottenham.
However, Pochettino, denied any talk of an Alli exit.
“I cannot clarify the rumours…I did not listen to him, but I think he is committed to the club – I did not hear his interview properly [sic],” he said.
Pochettino also seemed to deny rumours of an exit for Walker. He recently told reporters that it is ultimately the club’s decision who they are willing to sell, and that the club will keep all the players that “they want to keep”.
“All the players that we want to stay here next season will stay…Maybe some of the players we have an offer for and we decide to sell [sic]. That is our decision…All the players are under contract with the club. It will always be the club’s decision to keep or sell the players,” he said.
He concluded by saying that he believes it is a very exciting atmosphere for players at Tottenham at the moment.
