Tottenham and Man Utd to Battle for Europa League Glory

May 09, 2025

Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United will meet in an all-English Europa League final on 21 May, after both teams secured impressive semi-final victories.

Spurs triumphed 2-0 in Norway, completing a 5-1 aggregate win over Bodo/Glimt yesterday, Thursday 8 May. Despite challenging conditions, the visitors found their rhythm, with goals from Dominic Solanke and Pedro Porro sealing the win.

Man United delivered a dominant performance in England, overcoming Athletic Bilbao 4-1 to finish with a 7-1 aggregate score on the same night. United responded to Bilbao’s early goal, with Mason Mount scoring twice, including a stunning long-range strike, alongside goals from Casemiro and Rasmus Hojlund.

The final in Bilbao, Spain, offers both clubs a chance to salvage disappointing domestic seasons. With both teams struggling in the English Premier League, the Europa League crown would guarantee a spot in the 2025-26 UEFA Champions League.

It promises to be a thrilling clash, as Tottenham aims to end a 17-year trophy drought and United targets its second Europa League title in eight years.
