Sir David Beckham’s life is one filled with sporting glory, philanthropic pursuits and stylish living. During his footballing days back in the early 2000s, he signed what was back then an unprecedented lifetime offer with German athletic apparel firm Adidas, to the tune of over $160 million.
The agreement has seen Sir Beckham’s name closely associated with Adidas Predator football boots, heightening the lifestyle brand’s profile even further.
Erling Haaland – Nike, $240 Million Ten-Year Deal
Erling Haaland first became a hot commodity when he joined Manchester City in 2022. The Norwegian striker’s ball-control abilities and goal-scoring plays saw him elevated above his peers and just a year after moving to City, he received a $240 million contract from American sportswear manufacturer Nike that would run for a decade.
The odds are that the deal might run for as long as Haaland’s career, which shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
Lionel Messi – Adidas, over $1 Billion Handshake
The world’s most famous Argentine footballer first endorsed Adidas in 2006 when he was still playing for Barcelona.
Lionel Messi has changed clubs several times since then, but his love for the brand has never faltered, and in 2017, he signed a contract worth $1 billion with the sportswear giant to wear their gear for the rest of his playing journey.
Cristiano Ronaldo – Nike, $1 Billion Endorsement Deal
After building up his personal brand, CR7, for over a decade, megastar Cristiano Ronaldo was approached by athleticwear brand Nike in November 2016 to ink a lifetime contract. The highly visible sportsman would only wear Nike-branded clothing, but in return, he would enjoy a lucrative deal worth $1 billion for the rest of his days.
