The Cybertruck Embarrassment Continues
The laughs following the launch of Tesla founder Elon Musk’s Cybertruck keep coming, and one toy company refuses to LEGO of it.
The 48-year-old technology investor unveiled the electric car company’s newest product – a vehicle with a tank-like appearance dubbed the “Cybertruck” – to mortification on 22 November. The “shatterproof” windows of the vehicle broke during the demonstration, resulting in awkward laughs, and a flood of memes from the internet.
A week later and everyone is still poking fun at Tesla, and the latest jab comes from construction toy company, Lego.
The Denmark-based toymaker ‘trolled’ Mr Musk with a simple post on the official Lego Australia Instagram page.
On Tuesday, 26 November, the company posted an image of a lego truck – heavily reminiscent of the Tesla vehicle – with the caption: “The evolution of the truck is here. Guaranteed shatterproof”.
The bombed Tesla presentation had a real world impact though: Musk’s net worth dropped by an estimated $768 million, but he remains the 41st richest person in the world.
