‘The Bachelor’ Stars, Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell Break-Up
It looks like ‘Bachelor’ alumnus, Lauren Bushnell, will not be getting that final rose after all.
Bushnell, who was the winner of season 20 of ‘The Bachelor’ did end up getting engaged to bachelor Ben Higgins, but it was not meant to be, and the couple announced their split in a joint statement yesterday.
After just over a year of engagement, the couple said that they had come to a mutual agreement to end things.
“It is with heavy hearts that we announce our decision to go our separate ways…We feel fortunate for the time we had together, and will remain friends with much love and respect for one another. We wish nothing but the best for each other, and ask for your support and understanding at this time,” the two said in a statement released to People magazine.
While it is still shocking to see a celeb couple call it quits, it is unfortunately common-place with ‘Bachelor’ couples.
The 27-year-old Bushnell has been vocal about her unhappiness with the relationship, and the amount of changes she has had to make in her life to accommodate Ben.
She addressed a lot her fears in their spin-off tv series, ‘Ben & Lauren: Happily Ever After?’, which only lasted for one season.
“I have gone through more changes in the last year than I think I have probably in the last 10 years… the heck is going on?’ Like a deer in headlights kind of. I think now, looking back…I can really say it’s all been worth it [sic],” she said.
So we guess competing for someone’s affection against 20 other girls is not, in fact, a recipe for true love…
