Terry Talks Desire To Move Into Management
Former Chelsea captain, John Terry, has said that one of his future ambitions in his football career is to become a manager.
Speaking to reporters after Chelsea’s FA Cup loss to Arsenal on Saturday, Terry said that he would probably not return to Wembley stadium as a player, but alluded to his future career ambitions.
“It’s probably the last time at Wembley as a player…Hopefully one day I’ll be back here as a manager, that’s the ambition. I do want to be a manager. I will press on with that regardless of what I do next,” he said.
He continued, saying that his ultimate goal is to manage a team at top level.
“I’ve learned too much not to pass that on, whether that’s initially to a younger generation or eventually at this level – the target is being at Wembley managing a top side”.
Terry announced that he would be leaving long-time club, Chelsea, back in April and announced his retirement from international football.
He has not made an official announcement over whether or not he will join another club as a player in the coming season, or if he will start working in his managerial career.
Terry made his final appearance for Chelsea during their last English Premier League game against Sunderland on May 21st. He has made a total of 717 appearances for the club, after joining them in 1998.
