Terror Attack In Istanbul Kills 36

At least 36 people were killed and hundreds more injured in a terrorist attack at the Ataturk Airport in Istanbul, Turkey last night.

Ataturk airport is Turkey’s biggest airport.

According to various reports, two separate explosions went off in the airport within minutes of each other. The explosions were then followed by gunfire which injured many.

According to witnesses, the two explosions that went off were very loud and violent, which immediately sparked panic. Hundreds of people then started running towards the various exit points of the airport, while others hid and took cover around the airport.

Other witnesses say that there were at least three attackers.

Turkish Prime Minister, Ahmet Davutoglu, confirmed to the media that the attackers are part of jihadi terrorist group, ISIS. Other reports have indicated that the explosions were the work of suicide bombers from Syria.

World leaders across the globe has strongly condemned the attacks, saying that they will stand together with Turkey to fight terrorism.

This is also not the first time that Turkey has been rocked by terrorist attacks. In 2015, the country had to endure two separate terrorist attacks, killing more than 120 people in total.
