Taylor Swift Makes Student’s Dream Come True

August 24, 2020

Taylor Swift does more than make music that is personal and uplifting – she also makes dreams come true, especially for one lucky student.

The 30-year-old songstress donated £23 373 on Friday, 21 August, to Vitoria Mario’s page to help the 18-year-old hopeful realise her dream of studying Mathematics at the University of Warwick in the United Kingdom.

The page was started on 1 August, with the aim to raise £40 000, and thanks to the “Me!” hitmaker’s contribution, the total funds raised now sits at £47 650.

Mario previously immigrated from Portugal to England in 2016 to be with family in Tottenham,. However, her immigrant status and socio-economic circumstances would make entry into the prestigious academic institution difficult.

Swift came across her story online, and was so moved by Mario’s “drive and dedication” that she did not hesitate to help in “turning her dreams into a reality.”

She added a message with her donation: “I want to gift you the rest of your goal amount. Good luck with everything you do! Love, [Swift].”
