Taraji P. Henson Awarded Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame
Taraji P. Henson has become the latest recipient of a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The 48-year-old actress has enjoyed an illustrious career: Her most recognised roles include Queenie in “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”, artist manager Cookie Lyon in “Empire”, and mathematician Katherine Johnson in “Hidden Figures”.
Her accolades include being nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, winning two Primetime Emmy Awards, and winning a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Drama Series.
Henson’s star was unveiled at a glittering ceremony on Monday, 29 January. Guests in attendance included singer Mary J. Blige and actor Michael Ealy.
In her acceptance speech, an emotional Henson said: “I fight for roles that will break through glass ceilings so that these young women coming behind me, they won’t have the same narrative that we have.”
She added: “We can’t bash each other – we have to reach across the table and help each other.”
