Suicide Car Bomb Explodes Outside Hotel In Somalia
Somali authorities have confirmed that a suicide car bomb exploded outside of a hotel in the country’s capital of Mogadishu on Tuesday.
The attack has since been claimed by al-Shabaab jihadists.
It is believed that the bomb could possibly have been intended for the presidential palace as the hotel where the bomb exploded is located close to the presidential palace.
This is not the first time that his particular hotel has been attacked, either.
It was also the location of two other bombings this year – one February of this year on one back in January of 2015.
Elmi Ahmed, a witness who saw the bomb explode, told journalists that he first saw a car speeding towards the hotel and then en explosion:
“…I saw a car speeding towards the area and huge smoke and fire went up in the sky,” he said.
