Suicide Bomber Killed By Troops in Nigeria
A would-be suicide bomber has been killed in Nigeria after Nigerian military troops intercepted him before he could detonate his bomb.
Various news sources from Nigeria are reporting that the suicide bomber was gunned down by the troops as he was busy trying to set off his bomb.
The bomber has positioned himself at a transit camp for refugees that have fled from Boko Haram strongholds in the northeastern city of Maiduguri.
This past Friday, five other suicide bombers also targeted a bus station as well as a police checkpoint near the transit camp.
The attacks resulted in four of the suicide bombers being killed, with the fifth one being arrested.
Nigerian troops confirmed that two civilian self-defense fighters were also killed in the attack.
The would-be attack on Saturday was the sixth attack in the past three weeks in the same area. Luckily, Nigerian security forces and militia has managed to manage to foil most of the attacks and secure civilian deaths.
After being relatively quiet for quite some time, Boko Haram has increased planned attacks in the area as of late.
