Spring Pastels are here to stay
Almost like clockwork, as soon as we reach September, pastel colours pop up everywhere. From fashion to interior design, pastels have really seemed to take over the world. And in Spring time, those colours blossom even more.
While pastels are pretty and work well with almost anyone in any shape or form fashion wise, they can quickly become stale. Every season also has it’s own trending shade of pastel, so its important to keep switching the “it” colour up every season.
Last season we saw a lot of soft pink’s and baby blue. This season, however, is all about citrus colours. Basically, think of all the colours you’d see in your favourite springtime cocktail, translate them to pastels, and there you have it.
Some of the hottest pastels for this season include:
Lemony Yellow
This is a faded version of bright yellow. Not completely ‘lemon’ and not completely ‘butter’, its kind of in between. Find a chiffon scarf in this colour or a classy handbag and you’re good to go. Lemon works best as accessories rather than clothing.
Pastel Peach
Once again, this colour is not full on peach, but more a hybrid between a soft pink and full out peach. This colour works great for clothing pieces – whether its a sexy skinny jean or stringy camisole, this colour is hot!
Mint Green
Mint green has, and always will be a classic when it comes to pastels. It is uber classy and works on anyone, in any shape or form. A classic mint green cardigan paired with a white cotton shirt is sure to turn heads anywhere.
