Spicy Tomato & Vodka Pasta

Pasta is a staple in many households. It’s great for lunch or dinner and is super easy to make – even if you’re not the best cook in the world. 

This spicy, vodka infused tomato pasta puts a sexy spin on a classic dish. 

You will need: 

 

500g tagliatelle pasta

1 can of tomato pureé

1 can of whole, peeled tomatoes

1 tbsp crushed garlic

1 cup of Vodka

1 tbsp of cayenne pepper

butter

salt & pepper

 

Start by cooking the pasta for approximately 10 minutes. Remember to add a touch of olive oil and a pinch of salt to the water. 

For the sauce, combine the butter and garlic in a pan until melted. Then add the can of tomato puree and mix well with butter and garlic until a smooth paste.

Then, add the can of whole tomatoes, stirring continuously until the liquid boils. Then, add a touch of cayenne pepper (to taste – depends on how spicy you want it). Finally, add the cup of Vodka and allow to simmer for 3 to 4 minutes. 

Add salt and pepper to taste.

Once the pasta is done, strain and sprinkle with olive oil. Then add the spicy tomato vodka sauce. You don’t have to worry about the alcohol in this dish, because it cooks away only leaving you with a hint of vodka flavouring.
