South Africa: Kind Stranger Pays for Pupil’s School Uniform

A good Samaritan from Gauteng, South Africa, has made the school year for a little girl quite unforgettable.

Among numerous photos showing children going back to school last week, one of an unidentified female pupil – who is shown dressed in an oversized uniform – caught the most attention. This reportedly led to her being teased online.

According to a post by Twitter account, @GPsurvivors, a man named Gavin Khalima Khungwayo drove all the way from Johannesburg to the girl’s home province of Limpopo to give her a new uniform.

In addition, Khungwayo paid for her school fees for life and bought her family groceries.

Social media lauded Khungwayo for his kind gesture, with one person writing: “We need more people like Gavin Khalima Khungwayo. May God abundantly bless him.”

Another wrote: “One can never emphasise the importance of giving wholeheartedly without expecting anything in return … kudos to this brother.”
