Solskjaer Calls Out Anthony Martial
Manchester United boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, reportedly called out winger Anthony Martial on his lax attitude, following his side’s shoddy 1-1 draw against Chelsea on Sunday, 28 April.
According to reports, the Norwegian coach took the 23-year-old Frenchman to task in front of his teammates in the club’s dressing-room after the match.
In a video clip circulating on social media, Martial – who has reportedly been struggling with a back injury for weeks – is shown watching his teammates partaking in a pre-match warm-up at Old Trafford.
He also appears to be holding his hands behind his back and standing with one foot on a ball, while the rest of the team undertake a series of drills.
Martial was then benched for the entirety of the game before Solskjaer confronted him about his behaviour.
Injured or not, some members of Solskjaer’s backroom staff believe that the winger has shown a blatant lack of effort since he recently signed a new five-year deal with the Red Devils.
