Selena Gomez’s Mom Approves Her Relationship with The Weeknd

You know things are getting serious when the parents get involved!

Popstar Selena Gomez and fellow musician, The Weeknd, have been dating for a couple of months now and it seems Selena’s mom has now given her seal of approval on the budding relationship!

Selena and her ‘Starboy’ beau made their official debut as a couple on the red carpet at the Met Gala on Monday evening.

The two were photographed laughing, smiling and giving everyone real feels, including Selena’s mom, Mandy Teefey.

The Weeknd – whose real name is Abel Tesfaye – shared a picture on Instagram of the gorgeous couple on the steps of the Met on Tuesday, afterwhich Selena’s mom commented on the picture.

“Glowing, smiling, looking health and equal love…Mama is happy XO [sic],” she commented.

Well, that certainly sounds like a message of approval to us!

Selena and The Weeknd seemed to have had a wonderful time at the Met Ball, constantly laughing and cuddling each other.

Sources have also said that, at one point, Selena was heard whispering “I love you” to her BF as they made their way onto the red carpet.
