Salah Returns to Egypt Squad, Eyes Goalscoring Record
Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah is back in Egypt and there are smiles all around.
The 27-year-old forward last featured for Egypt when the nation hosted the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in June.
Salah has an opportunity to become the nation’s joint second-highest goalscorer of all time if he manages to find the back of the net at least once against either Kenya or Comoros.
Team manager, Hossam El-Badry, has expressed that he is glad to have Salah back in the team.
El-Badry said: “It makes me happy that among the players in the squad is one of the best players in the world. Salah is a positive asset for the national team and for me and the players.”
He has been placed in the squad that will be taking on Kenya and Comoros for Egypt’s upcoming 2021 AFCON qualifiers. The Pharaohs will be hosting the Kenyans in their Group G opener on 15 November. Thereafter, the Egyptians will play against Comoros on 19 November.
