SA Box Office: ‘Taken 3’ thrives

Taken 3 once again dominated the South African Box Office while eight time Oscar nominated film The Imitation Game debuted at number two.

The biopic film, which stars Benedict Cumberbatch as mathematician Alan Turing, tells the story of how he cracked Nazi-Germany’s enigma code during the Second World War.

Paddington dropped down to number three while Seventh Son stayed put at number four.

Left over kiddies films Tinkerbell and Big Hero 6 continue to do well at numbers five and six with Big Hero 6 being the oldest film on the chart. The Disney film has so far grossed R17 411 945 and should continue to stay in the top ten for a long while.

Exodus: Gods and Kings continues to thrive in the top ten sitting at number seven this week while Barbie Princess Power and Into the Woods sit at numbers eight and nine respectively.
