Rodwell Dhlakama Appointed Head Coach of Chapungu
Former Warriors defender and seasoned soccer player, Rodwell Dhlakama, has been appointed as the new head coach for Zimbabwean Premier League football club, Chapungu.
Dhlakama seems to have gotten off on a good start as the new man in charge, as Chapungu beat rivals, the Dynamos 1-0 in a recent Premier League match.
Speaking to the press, Dhlakama said that he is very happy to be back in the coaching seat of a top flight club and that he hopes his knowledge and tactics will have a good impact on the young players in his team.
“It is always good to coach in the Premiership. I am here to make sure that I help the team do well and stay in the premier league, beyond this season and for many more seasons to come. It’s not a one man job as football is teamwork [sic],” he said.
While Dhlakama says that he hopes to help Chapungu stay in the Premier League this season and “for many more seasons to come” there has been no official word on how long his is contracted with the club.
He continued, saying that, while they may have had a good start, there is more work to do and they must make sure to stay focused to continue on their good streak.
“We have to continue where we left off, during the week and collect as many points as we can,” he said.
