Rod Stewart Charged for Punching Security Guard

Sir Rod Stewart has been charged for allegedly punching a security guard at a hotel in Palm Beach, Florida on New Year’s Eve.

The 74-year-old “Get Back” hitmaker and his 39-year-old son, Sean, were apparently attempting to enter the children’s area – where a private event was taking place – at the Breakers Palm Beach Resort on Tuesday, 31 December.

According to reports, both father and son became aggressive when a security guard named Jessie Dixon refused them entry, as they did not have permission to enter the event.

This allegedly prompted the younger Stewart to shove Dixon backwards. Afterwards, his father allegedly punched the guard in the left ribcage.

In an affidavit, the British singer claimed that he was trying to gain access to the event for his younger family members, and that Dixon became “argumentative”, resulting in the reported bust-up. He also apologised for his alleged actions.

Nevertheless, Stewart and his son were both charged with simple battery, and both are set to appear at the Palm Beach County Criminal Justice Complex on 5 February.
