Roberto Di Matteo Sacked By Aston Villa
Former English Premier League club, Aston Villa, has confirmed that they have fired manager Roberto Di Matteo, following a less than impressive start to their latest campaign.
Aston Villa had been regulated out of the Premier League last season and have been trying to work their way back into the league.
However, the club has not managed to be very successful in their campaign as they have not managed to win many games.
Di Matteo was hired by the club back in June, but released a statement today saying that they have decided to part ways with the Italian manager.
“…[we have decided to] act following a run of disappointing results,” the club said in a statement.
Di Matteo has had his fair share of success in the past, however.
In 2012, when he was managing English Premier League club, Chelsea, he managed to get them to win the Champions League.
The sacking of Di Matteo leaves Aston Villa in a compromising position, as they have already spent more than $64 million after being regulated to up their chances of being promoted back into Premier League.
