Robert Pattinson Reportedly Has Coronavirus

Even superheroes fall ill – filming for “The Batman” has been paused after the flick’s main star, Robert Pattinson, has reportedly tested positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19).

Warner Bros. Pictures – the United Kingdom’s division of the production company behind the film – released a statement on Thursday, 3 September.

It explained: “A member of “The Batman” production has tested positive for COVID-19, and is isolating in accordance with established protocols. Filming is temporarily paused.”

The studio neglected to mention exactly who the production member was, but several inside sources claim that the 34-year-old “Tenet” actor – who plays the Caped Crusader himself – contracted the virus.

Work on the project was previously halted in mid-March due to the COVID-19 lockdown in Britain for three-and-a-half months, but this latest setback means that filming will be paused for a further two weeks.

“The Batman” is the latest interpretation of the DC Comics character, and is being directed by Matt Reeves. It is expected to be released worldwide on 1 October 2021.
