Report: Manchester City Interested in Kyle Walker

June 13, 2017

Manchester City are reportedly in the process of setting up transfer talks with Tottenham Hotspur defender, Kyle Walker, ahead of the 2017/2018 season.

While neither club has confirmed the talks, sources close to Man City management have said that manager, Pep Guardiola, is on a mission to strengthen his team’s defense.

This is where Walker, who has made a name for himself as a prominent full-back, both at club and international level, would help to strengthen the defense.

Reports have suggested that Guardiola is confident that they will be able to land Walker, but sources close to Tottenham management say that The Spurs are in no rush to let him go.

Apparently, Tottenham manager, Mauricio Pochettino, wants at least £50 million for the full-back’s services.

The 27-year-old has been with Tottenham for 8 years, after leaving his hometown club of Sheffield in 2009.

However, recent reports suggest that he has been unhappy since being dropped from the starting lineup for several Premier League games towards the end of last season.

Guardiola has reportedly also looked at acquiring the services of Southampton’s Ryan Bertrand and Monaco’s Benjamin Mendy, but no transfer talks have been confirmed as yet.
