R. Kelly Charges Fans $100 for 28-Second Show

April 09, 2019

R. Kelly reportedly gave a 28-second performance at a club over the weekend.

The embattled “Ignition” hitmaker is currently facing ten counts of aggravated sexual abuse. He was also hit with an unpaid child support charge, for which he was jailed.

Last month, Kelly was released on bail after posting one million dollars. Since then, he has struggled to find bookings.

According to reports, Kelly gave a musical performance in the early hours of Sunday morning, 7 April, at the Dirty South Lounge in Springfield, Illinois.

Concert-goers are said to have paid an entrance fee of $100 – later reduced to $50 due to lack of sales – to see the singer, who arrived at the venue at 01:30.

However, after thanking his supporters, Kelly only sang a single line from one of his yet-to-be-identified songs for 28 seconds before spending half an hour interacting with fans. The venue then closed at 03:00.

Needless to say, some fans in attendance were said to be unimpressed with Kelly’s performance and that they would never pay to see him sing again.
