Pogba’s United Move Still Hangs In The Balance

July 22, 2016

French football star, Paul Pogba, may very well still join Manchester United – but he may also very well stay with his current club, Juventus.

Rumours have been doing the rounds that Juventus had turned down an initial offer from Manchester United for the 23-year old star. And now it seems that the talks have opened again, with Manchester United under Jose Mourinho’s leadership offering even more for the striker.

When asked about new signing for the club, Mourinho said that the club is currently waiting on one more signing before the start of the season.

He did not, however, confirm that they are waiting on Pogba, but reading between the lines, it makes it rather obvious.

“…[sic] I don’t confirm and I don’t deny. I cannot tell you…I don’t think it’s correct to speak about players of other clubs, and he’s a Juventus player and not a Manchester United player…The only thing I can tell you is that my board, my directors they did fantastic work to do 75% of the job I asked them to do,” he said.

He continued saying that he asked the board for five players for the season:

“…I asked them for four players. To be more accurate I asked them for four or five players I need…I gave them a few options and they did for me 75% of the job with (Zlatan) Ibrahimovic, (Henrikh) Mikitharyan and (Eric) Bailly and they have just 25 percent to do until the 31st of August…We are calm. We have three faces to fill the profile. I am confident Mr Woodward will get the player we need to get a good balance,”

Mourinho and Manchester United are currently in China for pre-season games.
