Plot Twist: Trump Wins US Presidential Elections

November 09, 2016

In a shocking twist, Donald Trump becomes America’s 45th President. He won the US 2016 Elections over Hillary Clinton 279 to 218, sending shockwaves across the globe.

In his New York victory speech this morning, Trump pledged that he would be “president for all Americans”.

“Now it’s time to bind the wounds of division. I say to Democrats and Republicans it is time come together as one united people,” he said.

Clinton did not initially concede the election but later called Mr Trump to congratulate him on his victory.

Many are terrified as to the repercussions this result will have in terms global relations, however, Trump insists that “[America] will get along with all other nations willing to get along with us. We will deal fairly with everyone. We will seek common ground, partnership not conflict.”

The Republican took the key swing states of Florida, North Carolina and Ohio early this morning, as he marched towards the White House.

“America will no longer settle for anything less than the best. We must reclaim our destiny.” However, financial markets around the world plummeted as votes for Mr Trump stacked up – not the greatest sign of success.

While millions remain in shock at the outcome of these dramatic elections, only time will tell whether he will be as bad as we fear.

He is set to take the oath of office on 20 January 2017.
