Two passenger planes have collided with each other at the Halim Perdanakusuma airport in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The two planes collided on the runway, as one plane was about to take off and the other was being towed across the runway.

According to a statement by the airport, a Batik airplane with 49 passengers and 7 crew members on board, collided with and slightly clipped a TransNusa plane that was busy being towed across the runway.

A spokesperson for Lion Air Group, Andy Saladin, said that the captain of the Batik airplane that was about to takeoff, aborted the take-off in order to ensure the safety of the passengers.

“…[sic] All the passengers and crew are safe, and will be flown using a replacement aircraft,” he said in a statement that was released to the media.

The Lion Group also confirmed that there were no injuries in the collision, but that the two airplanes had some minor damage.

According to the Lion Group, the left wing of the Batik flight was damaged in the clash while the tail of the TransNusa plane was damaged in the collision.
