Pizza Vending Machines are Coming

April 07, 2020

Have you always wanted to get a pizza, but immediately worried about how many hands have touched your food? Fret no more – the future is coming, and it’s bringing pizza vending machines!

In the age of the coronavirus pandemic, many are worried about the cleanliness levels involved in food preparation, leaving many too reluctant to order takeouts.

One suggested solution is to purchase food from a robotic vending machine.

Start-up company, Basil Street, envisions rolling out its automated pizza kitchens everywhere, and for them to be readily accessible to the public.

The idea for the robo-vending machines is simple: they’re stacked with up to 150 flash-frozen, 25-centimetre, Italian-style, thin-crust pizzas which can be cooked within three minutes. Currently, they are only available with two toppings: four cheeses and pepperoni, along with a rotating “pizza of the month”.

The pizzas will cost you anything between $7 and $12; the payment will be contactless, so lugging cash won’t be necessary.

Best of all, the whole process is human-free, so much less chance of exposure to germs – or coronavirus.

Soon, you will taste authentic “fresh out of the oven” pizza without a care in the world.
