Paul Scholes: Mourinho Will Be Exciting
Even though some people still have reservations about Jose Mourinho becoming the next Manchester United manager, it seems that one former United player is all for the Portuguese manager to take the reigns at Old Trafford.
Former United midfielder, Paul Scholes, has said that Mourinho will bring an exciting game of football to the team, helping them re-capture the attacking ‘flair’ that they have been lacking over the past two years.
“…The fans at Man United demand entertaining football, and I’m sure Mourinho will come and try and give it,” he said.
Scholes has also been very vocal about his dislike of former Manchester United manager, Louis Van Gaal, who was recently sacked from the club after managing them for two years.
Scholes believes that Mourinho could be the man that brings back the spark to the club.
“…I think Mourinho will have watched that closely and will have seen what happened. He’s a top manager, he’s proven that before and hopefully he can do that again,” he said.
Scholes also said that he hopes Ryan Giggs stays on the United managerial team. Giggs is currently the assistant coach of the Red Devils.
“…I think it’s important that there’s some form of continuity I suppose…he [Giggs] knows the club inside out, he’s been there for nearly 30 years now, as a coach the last three years, and hopefully he’ll be there and be able to stay,” Scholes told reporters.
It is believed that Mourinho’s appointment as manager of United will be announced before the end of the week.
