Pasuwa Signs New Two-Year Deal
Warriors coach, Kalisto Pasuwa, has signed a new deal with ZIFA, that will see him be the manager and coach of Zimbabwe’s national football team for at least the next two years.
ZIFA president Philip Chiyangwa confirmed the news of a renewed contract at a handover yesterday, where Pasuwa was given a brand new vehicle as part of his contract deal.
The car was given to Pasuwa by ZIFA partner, Wicknell Chivayo, who said he will also be paying Pasuwa’s salary for the next two-years:
“…I have already secured the coach’s salary for the next two years,” he told journalists at the hand-over.
Chiyangwa also said that an agreement was reached between the two parties and that the contract is “forever” and that it will always be renewed:
“…There was a meeting between the coach and ZIFA representative Edzai Kasinauyo yesterday (Sunday) and they reached an agreement…the contract is going to be signed today (Monday). He is one of the best paid coaches in the region. The contract is forever; it will always be renewed,” he said.
The contract renewal comes after there was much speculation about whether or not Pasuwa would stay on as coach of the Warriors after the national team’s disappointing run at the recent CHAN tournament.
Zimbabwe was knocked out in the group stages of the tournament after they failed to win one game.
