Ozil Waiting on Wenger Before Re-Signing With Arsenal

One of Arsenal’s star performers, Mesut Ozil, has said that he is first waiting to see what the future holds for Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, before he makes a decision about his future at the club.

Up until now, it was believed that Ozil’s reluctance to sign a new contract with the Premier League club was due to differences in price – as to what Arsenal is offering the German player, and what him and his team are demanding.

However, those rumours seems to have been put to bed recently when Ozil told reporters that he is, in fact, happy at Arsenal, but that he wants to see what happens to Wenger first.

Wenger’s contract is set to expire at the end of the current Premier League season. He has been the manager of Arsenal for 21 years, since 1996.

“…I am very, very happy at Arsenal and have let the club know that I would be ready to sign a new contract…The fans want that I stay and now it is just down to the club,” Ozil said.

He continued saying that the club knows that one of the biggest reasons he is still with Arsenal, is because of Arsene Wenger.

“…The club knows that I am here most of all because of Arsene Wenger,” added Ozil. “He is the one who signed me and he is the one whose trust I have. The club also knows that I want to be clear what the manager is going to [do in the future],” he concluded.
