Ozil, Kolasinac “Fine” after Carjacking Attempt

July 26, 2019

Arsenal soccer players, Mesut Ozil and Sead Kolasinac, are both unharmed after they were involved in a carjacking attempt on Thursday, 25 July.

The duo were travelling through North London’s Golders Green district in Ozil’s Mercedes G-Class SUV, when the incident occurred.

According to the authorities, two individuals – wearing crash helmets and wielding knives – pulled up alongside the vehicle on their mopeds in an attempt to carjack the Gunners stars.

However, as seen in video footage circulating on social media, Kolasinac leapt out of the vehicle and fended off the attackers.

Meanwhile, Ozil exited the vehicle and ducked into a nearby Turkish restaurant, Likya, for aid, with the attackers following behind on foot. They were chased away by some of the restaurant’s waiters and chefs.

A spokesperson for Arsenal confirmed that both Ozil and Kolasinac are fine after undergoing the ordeal.

An investigation into the attempted carjacking is currently underway and has yielded no arrests thus far.
