Ozil, Emery Allegedly Clash on Camera
Video footage of Mesut Ozil allegedly clashing with Arsenal manager, Unai Emery, at the club’s training ground has emerged online.
The pair were filmed on Wednesday, 23 October, at the Arsenal Training Centre in London Colney. In the footage, Ozil – who was left out of the Gunners’ last four match-day squads after falling out of favour – is seen shaking hands with Emery.
Moments later, the 31-year-old German playmaker and the Spanish coach appear to have a frosty exchange, with the former gesturing forcefully with his arms and the latter shaking his head.
Later that day, Ozil posted a photo of himself to Twitter, in which he is seen laughing. In the caption underneath, he wrote: “You make me laugh …”
It is unclear if the post is a dig at Emery, although fans have been quick to presume that it is.
The Gunners are set to face Portuguese side, Vitoria SC, in a UEFA Champions League clash today, Thursday 24 October – it is currently unknown if Ozil will be included in the club’s starting line-up or as a substitute.
