Offset Hospitalised Following Florida Shooting
Rapper Offset, a former member of the platinum-selling group Migos, is reportedly in stable condition following a shooting incident outside a Florida casino early Monday morning, 6 April 2026.
According to local law enforcement and reports, the encounter occurred in the valet area of the venue shortly after the artist had finished a scheduled appearance.
Witnesses described a chaotic scene involving an exchange of gunfire between two groups. While initial reports were frantic, a representative for the rapper released a brief statement on Tuesday morning to reassure fans: “Offset is currently recovering in a local hospital and is in stable condition. We ask for privacy for his family at this time.”
The Broward County Sheriff’s Office confirmed they are investigating the discharge of a firearm but have not yet named any suspects or made any arrests.
This incident serves as a sombre reminder of the 2022 tragedy involving his cousin and Migos bandmate, Takeoff. On 1 November 2022, Takeoff was fatally shot outside a Houston bowling alley following an argument at a dice game he was not involved in. Described by police as an “innocent bystander,” Takeoff’s death at age 28 devastated the hip-hop community and led to the murder charge of Patrick Xavier Clark.
Fellow artists have taken to social media to offer support. Longtime collaborator Metro Boomin posted on X (formerly Twitter), “Prayers up for my brother Offset. Glad to hear he’s stable.” Authorities are currently reviewing surveillance footage from the casino to identify the shooters.
