Nigerian Army Rescues Women & Children From Boko Haram
The Nigerian military has announced that they have successfully rescued 80 women and children from terrorist group, Boko Haram.
The women and children were being held captive by Boko Haram extremists in the north eastern region of Nigeria.
The Nigerian authorities said that they were held in a remote village that was a stronghold for Boko Haram.
Col. Sani Kukasheka Usman, a spokesperson for the army, said that they were able to free 42 children and 38 women after they attacked attacked Boko Haram fighters in Gangere village in the Borno state of Nigeria.
The military also said that in the process of freeing the women and children, 42 Boko Haram extremists were killed.
Over the past year, the Nigerian military has managed to free around 10 000 Boko Haram captives.
