September 14, 2016

The Niger military has confirmed that seven Niger soldiers had been killed by Nigerian jihadi terrorist group, Boko Haram.

They also said that eight other soldiers were injured in two separate attacks over the past week.

According to a statement released by the military, the two attacks took place in the Diffa region – a region in the south east of the country that is close to the Nigerian border.

This area has also been attacked by Boko Haram previously.

Earlier in September, Boko Haram carried out an attack in a village in the area which left five people dead and two others injured.

The military also confirmed that some of the soldiers that were killed in the two separate attacks were ambushed by the terrorist group, while the other attack involved the vehicle of the soldiers driving over an explosive device set up by Boko Haram.

Boko Haram has been terrorising parts of Nigeria and Niger for the past 7 years.
